For the last week or so I have been doing much better at avoiding the temptation of indulgent foods and eating when I am not hungry. For the last few months I have not been great in this respect but I feel as though I am starting to get better at this.
This week I have also been trying to improve on my meal choices and opt for lower calorie food which has higher amounts of vegetables in. This combined with eating less snack food seems to be working quite well for me at the moment and I am losing weight. I am aiming for a slow rate of weight loss that I can keep up with longer term, I am hoping that this will be the key to success.
The other key to success (at least for me) is to not allow things that are unhealthy into the house. I am very unlikely to go out to the shop and buy something unhealthy when I am having a bit of a craving but if it there is something already in the house I will eat it just because it is there.
I know that this is probably the worst time of year for me to be trying to lose weight, in a few weeks all the Christmas food and drink will be everywhere. This will be a huge temptation for me but as long as I keep trying to make better choices I am sure that I will be able to reach my goal in the long run.
