I have spent the last few day or so tidying the house and clearing out some of my old stuff that I no longer use. I still have more to do but the house is looking a lot more organised already than it did at the start of the week.
We are hoping that at some point soon we will be able to get an extension on our house but in order for us to do that we are going to have to clear out the house and get rid of a lot of the things that are in our loft.
This is not an easy process for me, I don’t like to throw things away that I might need in the future. It also feels bad to get rid of things that still work (even though I don’t use them and probably never will). I have found that donating to charity rather than throwing away is helpful in this way but it is still difficult for me and it going to be an ongoing process which will take a while.
I would like to think that I will get better at not holding on to things I don’t need with time but I have a feeling that this is going to be something that I will always struggle with. Being aware of this however should mean that it never gets the better of me.
