This illness has taken me longer to get over than I had hoped for and today was the first day that I felt up to going for a run. I am still not back to full fitness but I am feeling much better than I was earlier this week.
Usually on a Saturday I would go for a long run of about 10km but I felt as though doing this after being ill for a week (especially when I am still not completely recovered) might be a bad idea. There is also a good chance that if I push my body too hard then I might slow down my recovery or make myself feel worse.
For this reason I restricted myself to 6km today. I felt really good when I was running but I did cough a lot once I got back from my run. I am hope that means that the run has helped me to get rid of the last bits of congestion that I have then!
